The Sharp MX-M1205 is the refresh of the MX-M1204 — same 120 ppm A3 monochrome production engine, minor updates, sold today refurbished for centralized print rooms doing 150,000 to 350,000 pages a month. It supports 120 ppm at 1200 x 1200 dpi, 11 x 17, heavier media, duplex print and scan, the older production panel, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB. The thing buyers regret: the MX-M1205 versus MX-M1204 difference is small in daily use, but the parts numbers and finisher SKUs differ — get the wrong part and you eat the swap. Always confirm the suffix on every order. As refurbished kit with low meter and a service contract that covers fuser and transfer roller, this is a serious B&W production tool that holds its own against newer hardware; for new-purchase shoppers, the current production line is a better long-term bet because of parts pipeline and panel.
