Is this the right printer for you?
Who the Sharp BP-70C45 is actually for
Most equipment pages just tell you what a device does. Here's the honest version: when
this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We
offer equipment for every business need, but the right machine depends on your specific workflow.
Best fit
Pick this if...
You run a department of 25-60 people that needs A3 (11x17) color and prints 8,000-15,000 pages a month.
You scan large jobs daily — single-pass duplex at 280 ipm via the 300-sheet DSPF keeps a 200-page contract moving.
You want a faster engine than the C31/C36 without jumping to the 55-65 ppm chassis cost.
You need Sharp OSA app integration for a third-party document workflow (DocuWare, M-Files, Square 9, etc.).
You want WPA3 wireless, TLS 1.3, and Bitdefender antivirus (optional) in a single box without bolt-on kits.
Works fine
You'll be happy if...
You print 5,000-8,000 pages a month — the machine is sized for that, you're paying for a bit of speed headroom you may not use.
You need finishing — the BP-FN11 inner finisher (50-sheet staple) handles small jobs; for booklets, step up to the BP-FN14/16 saddle stitch console finishers.
You're moving from a Ricoh or Konica A3 MFP — operators adjust to the Sharp UI in 1-2 weeks; the menu logic is different but not harder.
You want fax — the BP-FX11 fax expansion kit is required (not standard).
Look elsewhere
Skip this if...
You print under 3,000 pages a month — overkill. Get a BP-70C31 or even a desktop MX-C507F.
You need 55+ ppm — step to the BP-70C55 or BP-70C65 in the same Advanced Series.
You only print letter and legal — the A3 capability is wasted; an A4 desktop covers it for less money and floor space.
You don't have rack/floor space for a 24 x 26 x 34 inch unit (187 lbs base, more with finisher).
You need 11x17 from every tray — Tray 1 is letter/legal/ledger only; serious A3 volume needs the optional 3,000-sheet large capacity cassette.
Full specifications
Every spec, no guessing
The Sharp BP-70C45 sits in the middle of the Advanced Series A3 color lineup at 45 ppm in both black and color — the speed sweet spot for departments of 25-60 people running 8,000-15,000 pages a month. It uses the same chassis, 300-sheet single-pass DSPF, and 10.1" touchscreen as the BP-70C31 and BP-70C36, but the engine is meaningfully faster: first-page-out is 4.6 seconds black / 6.5 color from the platen, and copy/print speed is 45 ppm. Standard 650-sheet capacity (one 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet bypass), expandable to 6,300 with the optional split tandem drawers and the 3,000-sheet LCC. Connectivity is full out of the box: Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0/3.0, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, AirPrint, Universal Print. Cloud connectors for Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox are all standard — not bolt-ons. The thing buyers regret: skipping the BP-DD10 double-feed detection kit. If you scan stacks of mixed-thickness originals daily, double-feed errors will eat hours over a year; the kit pays for itself.

How you can buy this printer
Buy it, lease it, or just reorder supplies
Three ways to get this printer, each priced to match how you actually use it. Most
small offices lease because toner and maintenance are bundled. If you know what you need, buy
outright. If you already own one, just reorder supplies.
Final lease rate depends on term length, credit profile, and bundled supplies. Outright purchase and
supplies pricing varies with bundled warranty, install packages, and order volume. Request a quote for
exact pricing.
