Sharp MX-M753U

The Sharp MX-M753U is the same 75 ppm monochrome engine as the MX-M753N, configured for heavy workgroup duty — printing, copying, scanning, faxing, and filing in one floor-standing unit. Resolution is 1200x1200 dpi, first copy hits in about 3.5 seconds, and the 150-sheet duplex single-pass feeder scans at 75 ppm. Paper capacity starts at 3,100 sheets and goes to 6,600 sheets with the optional decks, and it handles stocks up to 209 gsm — heavy enough for most cover stocks but not for thick cardstock. The 8.5-inch color touchscreen is workable. Toner yield is roughly 83,000 impressions, which keeps cost-per-page in the low fractions of a cent. The thing buyers regret: this generation lacks Wi-Fi out of the box, so wireless printing means adding a print server or a wireless adapter. For a wired office it is a tank; for an open-floor team with laptops, plan for the wireless add-on. Volume sweet spot is 80,000 to 175,000 mono pages a month.
