Sharp MX-5071S

The Sharp MX-5071S is the simplified-config version of the MX-5071 — same current 50 ppm A3 color engine, same 10.1 inch Android panel, but a stripped-back finisher and tray ecosystem aimed at price-sensitive small offices doing 8,000 to 18,000 pages a month. It supports 50 ppm color and B&W, 11 x 17, duplex print and scan, AES-256, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, optional Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and Mopria. The thing buyers regret: the S model cannot be field-upgraded to the same booklet-finisher options that the standard MX-5071 supports — if you decide a year later you want saddle-stitch, you cannot bolt it on. Lock down finishing needs at quote time. If your work is print, copy, and scan with desk-level finishing, the S saves real money over the base MX-5071. If you might want booklets later, pay the difference up front for the standard model.
