Sharp MX-2640N

The Sharp MX-2640N is a 26-ppm A3 color multifunction launched in 2014, sized for workgroups of 10-25 people printing 1,500-4,000 pages a month. It was the model that introduced the 10.1-inch multi-touch tilting LCD into Sharp's 26-ppm class, and it ships with Wi-Fi standard (rather than as an optional adapter). It prints and copies 26 ppm in both mono and color on letter (14 ppm on tabloid), scans through a standard 100-sheet RSPF, and ships with a single 500-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet bypass for 600 sheets standard, expandable to 6,600 sheets across the optional tandem large capacity drawer. PCL 6 and Adobe PostScript 3 are both standard. Sharp OSA cloud integrations and Cloud Connect (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) are in the base controller. The 320 GB internal hard drive holds Document Filing for up to 30,000 pages. The thing buyers regret: buying a new MX-2640N in 2024 when the BP-50C26 sells for similar money, runs the same 26 ppm, ships with a newer controller and the modern Sharp UI, and adds native Microsoft Teams folder scan and Universal Print in the base. The MX-2640N is a solid machine on an existing service contract, but it's not the right pick for a fresh install.
