Sharp BP-50C55

The Sharp BP-50C55 is the 55-ppm option in the BP-50 Essentials A3 color family, aimed at mid-to-high volume departments and production cells where the BP-50C45 runs out of headroom but the BP-70 Advanced series is overspec. Print speed is 55 pages per minute in both black and color at 1200 x 1200 dpi mono / 600 x 600 dpi color, with first copy out at 3.7 seconds B/W and 4.8 seconds color from the platen — the fastest first-copy times in the BP-50 family. Standard paper capacity is 650 sheets (one 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet bypass), expandable to 6,300 sheets with split tandem drawers and the BP-LC10 large capacity cassette. The 100-sheet RSPF scans at 80 ipm with original size detection. The 10.1-inch tilting touchscreen handles direct print from Office files, scan-to-cloud, and Synappx Go mobile workflows. Finishing options include staple, hole punch, saddle stitch, and the BP-FD10 inner folding unit for tri-fold and z-fold. The thing buyers regret: same as the rest of the line — fax, PostScript, Wi-Fi, OCR, and Compact PDF are option kits, not standard. Best fit: a department of 40-80 printing 12,000-25,000 pages a month with steady A3 color volume.
