Sharp MX-M1056

The Sharp MX-M1056 is a 105-ppm monochrome production-class MFP built for in-plant copy rooms, print-on-demand shops, and central reprographics that move 30,000+ letter-size pages a month. The base configuration ships with a 300-sheet single-pass DSPF that scans at 240 ipm in color or mono, a 2,000-sheet tandem drawer plus two 500-sheet drawers (3,000 sheets standard), and a 1.4 GHz controller with 6 GB RAM and a 1 TB drive. Paper capacity expands to 13,500 sheets with the LCT and Letter LCC accessories, and the trays accept stock from 13 lb bond up to 110 lb cover (300 gsm), so coated cover work and tab printing run without a separate device. The 15.4-inch tilting touchscreen handles job management, and the optional MX-PE16 Fiery FS400 Pro server gives you Command WorkStation, imposition, and color management integrated into the same panel. Print resolution is true 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, drivers cover Windows, macOS, Linux, and Citrix, and security includes Application Whitelisting and the Sharp End-of-Lease data wipe. The thing buyers regret: not budgeting the finisher and bypass options upfront. Base is great, but most production sites need at least the MX-FN21 staple finisher and the multi-bypass to actually run the jobs they bought it for.
