Sharp MX-8090N

The Sharp MX-8090N is the top-end Pro Series light production color MFP at 80 ppm mono and color — built for marketing departments, in-plant print rooms, and small commercial copy operations running 35,000-90,000 color pages a month. Same 38.4 x 30.25 x 60.25 inch chassis and 15.4" tilting touchscreen with swing-out keyboard as the MX-7090N, but the engine is faster: 80 ppm in both mono and color (1,200 x 1,200 dpi), first-page-out 3.7 seconds black / 5.1 color from the platen. The 150-sheet single-pass DSPF scans at 200 ipm. Standard 3,000-sheet input (2,000-sheet tandem plus two 500-sheet drawers), expandable to 13,500 sheets with the MX-LC12 letter LCC, MX-LC13N 5,000-sheet 2-drawer air-feed LCT, and MX-LCX3N ledger LCC. The Pro Series architecture is built around Fiery integration — the optional MX-PE13 external Fiery brings full Fiery Command WorkStation directly to the Sharp control panel. Console finishers include the MX-FN21 100-sheet staple and MX-FN22 100-sheet staple/saddle stitch; the MX-BM50 Plockmatic booklet maker handles 120-page full-bleed booklets inline; the MX-FD10 multi-folding unit handles tri-fold, z-fold, half-fold. Runs on 208-240V/20A, 2.88 kW. PANTONE Licensing is included. The thing buyers regret: assuming the 80 ppm engine is the only difference vs the MX-7090N. The chassis, floor space, finisher options, and supplies are identical; the speed delta only matters if your monthly volume actually consumes the difference.
