The Sharp MX-5071 is a current-generation 50 ppm A3 color MFP for small offices and busy workgroups doing 10,000 to 25,000 mixed pages a month — the standard pick when buyers outgrow a 40 ppm class machine but do not yet need a 60 ppm one. It runs 50 ppm in color and B&W at 1200 x 1200 dpi, has the current 10.1 inch Android-based touchscreen, 150-sheet dual-pass DSPF, 650 sheets standard input expandable to 6,300, AES-256 encryption, motion-sensor wake, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, optional 802.11 a/b/g/n, AirPrint, Mopria, and Sharpdesk Mobile. The thing buyers regret: the base sticker price does not include a finisher, second drawer, or stand — once you spec a real office configuration you are usually 1,500 to 2,200 dollars over the base. Get the dealer to quote the full configuration up front. If you do, the MX-5071 is one of the most predictable A3 color MFPs in its class, with a strong parts runway and reasonable cost per page on color.
