Sharp MX-5050N
The Sharp MX-5050N is a 50 ppm A3 color MFP from Sharp's prior generation, common today as a refurbished or off-lease unit for small offices and busy workgroups doing 10,000 to 22,000 mixed pages a month. It runs 50 ppm color and B&W, supports 11 x 17, has duplex print and scan, and uses the OSA panel. The N variant ships with the network controller. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet and USB, with optional wireless. The thing buyers regret: at 50 ppm with no current-gen panel, the experience around scan workflows feels dated next to a current MX-5071, and toner availability — while still strong — costs more per page. Total cost of ownership over 4-5 years can land close to a new MX-5071 once you add toner, parts, and the eventual end-of-life service window. If your dealer prices it aggressively and stocks consumables, it is a real value; if priced near new, walk away.
