Sharp MX-4071S

The Sharp MX-4071S is the simplified-stand version of the MX-4071 — same 40 ppm A3 color engine, same 10.1 inch touchscreen, same 1200 x 1200 dpi output, but with a stripped-down base configuration aimed at price-sensitive small offices that do not need the full finishing options. Volume target is 6,000 to 15,000 mixed pages a month for accounting practices, insurance offices, and small medical billing teams. It supports 150-sheet DSPF scanning, 650-sheet standard input expandable to 6,300, AES-256 encryption, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, optional Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and Mopria. The thing buyers regret: the S model saves money up front but cannot be field-upgraded to the higher-end finisher options the MX-4071 supports — if you decide a year in that you want a saddle-stitch booklet finisher, you cannot just bolt it on. Decide finishing needs at purchase. If your work is straightforward print, copy, scan, and you do not need booklets, the S saves real money.
