Sharp MX-3050N

The Sharp MX-3050N is the 30-ppm A3 color multifunction in Sharp's 2017-era MX-2630/3050/3550/4050/5050/6050 line, sized for workgroups of 15-30 people printing 2,500-6,000 pages a month. It prints and copies 30 ppm in both mono and color on letter (16 ppm on tabloid), scans up to 80 ipm through the standard 100-sheet RSPF, and ships with 650 sheets standard, expandable to 6,300 sheets across optional drawers. The 10.1-inch tilting multi-touch color LCD adds drag-and-drop home screen customization, pinch/spread/swipe gestures, and an advanced preview. Print Release (pull printing across up to 5 networked MFPs), Cloud Connect (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, SharePoint Online), and Sharp OSA are in the base controller. PCL 6 is standard; Adobe PostScript 3 is the optional MX-PK11 kit. The 250 GB internal hard drive holds Document Filing for up to 30,000 pages. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 standard; Wi-Fi via the optional MX-EB18 adapter. Finishing options scale from 500-sheet output up to the saddle-stitch finisher with 65-sheet stapling. The thing buyers regret: speccing the MX-3050N in 2024 when the current BP-50C36 sells for similar money, runs at 36 ppm (a real upgrade), ships with the same 10.1" panel form factor, and adds native Microsoft Teams folder scan and Universal Print in the base.
