Sharp MX-B707P

The Sharp MX-B707P is the 70-ppm sibling to the MX-B557P — same chassis, same 4.3-inch color touchscreen, same true 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, just 15 ppm faster and first print at 4.0 seconds (vs 4.5). It's built for workgroups of 15-40 people that move 5,000-15,000 letter or legal pages a month and want print-only without paying for MFP scan/copy hardware they won't use. PCL 6 and PostScript 3 standard. Capacity is 650 sheets at base (550 drawer plus 100-sheet bypass), expandable to 4,400 sheets with optional 250, 550, and 2,100-sheet feed units. Direct print covers BMP, DCX, DOC/DOCX, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PDF, PNG, PPT/PPTX, TIFF, XLS/XLSX, and XPS via FTP, SMB, web page, email, and the front USB host port. Wired interface is Gigabit Ethernet plus dual USB 2.0 host ports; 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi is optional. Memory starts at 1 GB, expandable to 5 GB. AirPrint and Android print framework are standard. Optional finishing covers staple, staple/hole-punch, high-capacity output expander, and a 4-bin mailbox for sorting by user. Footprint is 16.85 x 20.1 x 17.4 inches at 56.4 lb. Blue Angel certified. The thing buyers regret: stepping up from the 55-ppm B557P when their actual volume sits below 4,000 pages a month. The speed only pays back if you're feeding the engine.
