Sharp MX-M3551
The Sharp MX-M3551 is a 35 ppm A3 monochrome MFP from Sharp's mid-cycle generation, sold today refurbished for small offices and team workspaces doing 5,000 to 12,000 B&W pages a month. It runs 35 ppm at 1200 x 1200 dpi, 11 x 17, duplex print and scan, an early Android-based panel, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, optional Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and Mopria. The thing buyers regret: the in-between generation has awkward pricing — too new to be cheap, too old to win a 5-year cost battle against a new MX-M3571. Buy the MX-M3551 only when the refurb spread to a new MX-M3571 is at least 30 percent, and the meter is under 1.5 million pages. With that gap and a low meter, this is a strong machine that gets you a recent Android panel at a workgroup price; without it, the new model wins on parts pipeline and panel app updates over time.
